Stuart F. Monard, loving Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather, Uncle and Friend, 78, Neenah, transitioned peacefully to Heaven on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at his home. He was born March 15, 1937, in Neenah, son of Frederick and Loretta (Kollross) Monard. Stuart married the love of his life, Eileen Leitner, on May 19, 1962, in Jericho, WI, and shared over 48 wonderful years together. He was a devout Catholic as a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Parish, Neenah. Stuart was proud of his service in the Marine Corps following high school. He loved telling stories especially about family vacations and his travels out West. He was employed with Twin City Savings & Loan Association in Neenah as assistant vice president appraiser and by the Town of Menasha as an assessor. Stuart enjoyed photography and sketching throughout his life. In retirement, Stuart became an avid painter. His paintings are on display at the Neenah Public Library and Neenah City Hall. Stuart enjoyed running and was captain of his high school track team. He was a strong and courageous man who fought Parkinsons Disease for twenty years. Stuart is survived by his three daughters: Kristine (Jeffry) Rostas, Appleton; Kathryn (Michael) Sahli, Town of Menasha; Kayann (Peter) Lukszys, New Glarus; three grandchildren: Jonathon and Lauren Rostas, and Benjamin Lukszys; grand dogs, Emmy and Trooper; a sister, Jean (Donald) Stilp, Neenah; a brother-in-law, Ronald (Mary Ann) Leitner, Woodbury MN; and very special family friend and caregiver, Debbie (Jim) Stolla; nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Eileen. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 27, 2016, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 620 Division St., Neenah, with Fr. Michael Ingold officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, Jericho, WI. Visitation will be held Saturday, at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass. Immediately following the Mass, full military honors will be presented by active duty members of the U.S. Marine Corps. and the Neenah-Menasha Veterans Honor Team. The family is grateful to the Valley VNA caregivers and staff for their compassionate, attentive care, and friendship; and to Dr. Gizell Larson for her dedication in caring for our parents. Dad, you are now free to run, dance and sing. We love you so much and look forward to meeting you and Mom again.
