Barbara Kierstead, 76, Neenah, was embraced by our Lord on October 20, 2011. She was born June 29, 1935, in Milwaukee to the late Oliver and Pearl (Wanless) Nennig. She graduated from Custer High School, Milwaukee where she was the homecoming queen of her graduating class. Barbara married the late Richard James Kierstead in 1957, in Milwaukee and then relocated to Neenah where they raised their four children. Barbara was a very loving sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Of those that knew her she always wore a warm smile and was fun-loving with a great sense of humor. Barbara loved to dance, golf and spend time with her family and friends. She was also an avid bridge card player for many years. Barbara retired from Fox Valley Technical College after 30 years where she was currently a member of the Adopt a Family Committee. Barbara was also a devoted member of Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church of Neenah for many years. Barbara is survived by her children: David J. (Carla) Kierstead, Neenah; Daniel J. (Wendy), Oshkosh; Mary R. (Randall) Miller, Menasha and Anna (Jeffrey) Lund, Antigo; her grandchildren: Eric, Shane (Tori) Miller; Matthew, Michelle, Kelsea, Korbin and Quinnlan Kierstead; Natasha, Connor and Jack Lund and one great grandchild Levi Miller along with many close relatives and friends; her brothers and sister: Ralph (Janet) Nennig, Milwaukee; Sue (Claude) Manning, MA, John (special friend Bonnie), West Allis and Steve Nennig, West Allis. She was also preceded in death by her grandmother, Cora "Nanny" Neacy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at St. Margaret Mary Church, 620 Division Street, Neenah with Fr. Michael L. Ingold officiating. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established. Our family wishes to sincerely thank the entire staff of Valley VNA Senior Services of Neenah, along with Theda Care at Home Hospice for their outstanding comforting healthcare and compassion at our dear mother's time of need. Dear Mom, We were so very fortunate and blessed to have a mother as you. You met each day with a loving smile.
