James 'Jim' Mohnen Obituary

Obituary James P. "Jim" Mohnen, age 85, of Neenah, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. He died following several years of declining health including Alzheimers. Jim, the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Schroeder) Mohnen, was born on March 5th, 1936 in White Lake, SD. He married Romilda A. "Millie" Heiting at St. Annes Catholic church in Stanley, WI on June 26, 1956. Jim farmed alongside his 14 siblings when he grew up in South Dakota. He then moved to Neenah and worked at Kimberly Clark for his entire career. He began in the mill and later moved to management where he treasured those who worked with him and was respected by his peers. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved gardening, and spending time at his property "Up North". Jim is survived by his five children: Debra Eberhard-Mohnen (special friend Rick Maggiore), Judy (Jerry) Karel, Ginger (Greg) Van Thiel, Jackie (Dave) Salm, and Mark (Linda) Mohnen, and former son-in-law Stefan Eberhard; his grandchildren: Tiffany (Ridwan Bhuiyan) Eberhard, Samantha Eberhard, Tony (Katie) Karel, Pat (Tara) Karel, James (Hali) Van Thiel, Mike (Shelby) Van Thiel, Clayton (Tori) Van Thiel, Becky Van Thiel, Mary Van Thiel, Stephanie (Kyle) Droessler, Nicole (Todd) Posselt, Shannon Salm, Christopher Salm, Jessica (Matt) Krahnbuhl, and Abigayle Mohnen; 14 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way; his siblings: Mary Vinz, Sharon (Bob) Beckmann, Edward Mohnen, Dolores Waters, Paul (Nancy) Mohnen, and Theresa Ishmael; brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law: Merlyn Kettner, Rosalie Mohnen, Roseanne "Nan" Mohnen, and Richard Heiting; many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Romilda "Millie" Mohnen; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Lawrence and Odelia (Duss) Heiting; brothers: John, Phillip, Leo (Donna), Gerald, David, and Richard Mohnen; sisters: Betty Kettner and Janette (Bob) Priebe; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Gene Koch, Warren Vinz, Alan Waters, Lavonne (Edwin) Ritzman, Orville (Carol) Heiting, Ken (Linda) Heiting, Nina Heiting. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, December 3rd, 2021 at St Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger Street, Neenah. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. at which time there will be a tribute to Jim followed by the funeral mass. Entombment will be at Shrine of Heaven Mausoleum, Neenah. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Theda Care at Home Hospice especially, Jolene, Roberta, Nicole, Pazong. A special thank you to Karen, Vicky, Linda, Denny and many other friends and family who helped with their hearts and souls to take care of our father throughout the years.
