Donna Vollmer, 65, Wrightstown, formerly of Green Bay and Greenville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 30 in Mesa, Arizona. Donna was born on July 16, 1945, in Green Bay. Donnas career as a Commercial Lines Insurance Specialist spanned many years where she made many friends among co-workers and customers alike. Donna loved her Lord and Savior, her family, her friends, her country, butterflies, angels, hummingbirds, flowers and had a passion for shopping at thrift stores. The bargains she found are legend. She delighted in coming home with her purchases and announcing to Al that you wont believe the money I saved you today. Donna especially delighted in traveling, and together Donna and Al traveled for several years in their motorhome going from the tip of Texas to Alaska and from San Diego to Newfoundland, and many places in between, making many friends and having wonderful adventures along the way. In recent years, she spent most of the winters in Arizona enjoying family and friends. Donna was the beloved wife of 23 years to Arlyn (Al) Vollmer; loving mother of Michael (Kimberly) Zegers, Kurt (Amanda) Vollmer, John (Cheryl) Zegers, and Krista Vollmer; loving grandmother of Amanda Vollmer, Jessika Zegers, Theresa Vollmer, Andrew Zegers, Derek Zegers, Elisabeth Vollmer and Aaron Zegers; sister of Nancy (Kenneth) Biettler and Thomas (Vicki) Miller; sister-in-law of James Rusch, Milyn Vollmer, Sharon (Patrick) Pelkey, Susan (Douglas) Gee, Donna (Gerald) Johnson, Elaine (Kenny) Gast, Elizabeth Sawyer, Paul Anderson, Joanna Joseph, Catherine Lassen and Evangeline (Jeff) Banfil; she was a special daughter-in-law to Martin and Doris Vollmer. Other survivors include her father, Donald H. Miller and many nieces and nephews and special cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine A. Miller; mother-in-law, Rose Bachman; sister-in-law, Carol Lynn Rusch and brothers-in-law Valentine Vollmer and Samuel Bachman. A celebration of Donnas life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 23, at Alleluia Lutheran Church, 6725 Elmro Rd, Greenleaf with Pastor Aaron Hutton officiating. Friends may call on Saturday at the church from 9 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established. The family is especially grateful for the wonderful, compassionate care given to Donna by the entire staff at Fox Valley Oncology and Hematology and especially Dr's Anthony Phillips and John Swanson and angels Brenda and Mary Jo.
