Janet J. Beatty

Janet Sis Beatty, 80, of Neenah, passed away peacefully at Vallhaven Care Center on Friday, March 11, 2011. She was born on June 10, 1930 in Oshkosh to Albert and Erma (Vohs) Dunham. Sis graduated from Oshkosh High School, the Class of 1948. She was united in marriage to Raymond Gene Beatty at the St. Margaret Mary Rectory in Neenah on January 21, 1950. Raymond preceded her in death on October 30, 1968. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Parish, and was a crossing guard in Neenah for several years. Janet loved her job as a housekeeper for Theda Clark Medical Center, where she enjoyed talking to all the friendly faces. In Janets free time, she loved to go bowling, play cribbage and sheepshead, and also knit. Janet enjoyed many summers with her family at their lake home on Lake Poygan. Janet is survived by three children: Patricia (Arthur) Miller, Bruce (Gloria) Beatty, and Mitchel (Jean) Beatty, all of Neenah; eight grandchildren: Brian (special friend Jean) Miller, Cory Miller, both of Neenah, Amanda (special friend Ian) Miller, Appleton, Patrick and Dennis Miller, both of Neenah, Christopher Beatty, Neenah, Megan (fianc Jon) Beatty, Milwaukee, and Thomas (special friend Robin) Beatty, Madison; four great-grandchildren; brother: Gordon Bud (Lulu) Dunham, Larson; aunt: Dorothy Nehls, Ripon; sister-in-law: Mary Beatty, Appleton; and other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband Gene, Janet is preceded in death by an infant son Michael Lee Beatty, and her parents. Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at the Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial St., Neenah, Fr. Mike Ingold will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will take place at St. Margaret Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established. The family of Janet would like to thank all the staff at Vallhaven Care Center for their excellent and compassionate care of Janet through the years.
