Norma Johnson

Norma Johnson, 78, Kenosha, formerly of Neenah-Menasha, died Sunday at Manor Care in Kenosha. She was born March 21, 1932, in Neenah, daughter of Erwin and Lily (Courvall) Westphal. Norma married Arlyn Johnson, July 27, 1953, in Dubuque, Iowa. He preceded her in death May 21, 1990. Norma and Arlyn lived in Oklahoma and Washington State while Arlyn was in the Army. When they returned to Neenah they built their home on Maple Street, Neenah. After Arlyns passing, Norma moved to Menasha to be closer to her mom and brother and to take care of them. After her granddaughter Amanda was born Norma moved to Kenosha. She loved spending time playing and reading stories with her pooper doops Amanda. Norma is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Bob) Becker, Kenosha; son, Timothy Johnson, Neenah and his friend, Deanna Girard; sisters: Audrey (Tom) Peterson, Townsend; Sandra (Dave) Hackstock, Neenah; brothers: Allen, Kenosha; Norman, Menasha; and Harvey (Patricia), Neenah; grandchildren: Amanda Becker, Lindsey and Jesse Johnson; brother-in-law, Carroll (Donna) Johnson, Waupaca; nieces: Sue (Butch) Webb, Wabeno; Lisa DuBord (John Veller), Chicago; Karen (Douglas) Leduc, Yorkville, IL; Nephews: Ronald (Ada) Johnson, Randall (Peggy) Johnson and Robbin (Theresa) Johnson, all of Waupaca; Gregory (Kathy) Westphal, Neenah, Ryan and Adam Hackstock, Arizona; four great nieces and nephews; one great great niece and one great great nephew; numerous cousins and many lifelong friends that will all cherish their memories of her sass and humor forever. Funeral services for Norma will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 7, 2011, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger Street, Neenah with Fr. Richard Allen officiating. Entombment will follow. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. Monday at the church until the time of the mass. A memorial has been established for the Hospice Alliance of Kenosha. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff at Manor Care for making Norma a part of their family. Included in the staff are Mary, Jennifer, Nicole, Amber, Marlon, Melena and Nora.
