George Henry Smith, age 82, of London, Kentucky, formerly of Corbin, passed away on Sunday November 20, 2022, at Baptist Health in Corbin, Kentucky.

George was retired security officer with Storm Security.  He was preceded in death by his father, John Henry Smith, mother, Lillie Mae Rhoades Sawyers, daughter, Shannon Gail Smith, and by his siblings, Mavin Sawyers, Bill Sawyers, Viola Buckley, and Christine Tucker.

George is survived by his children, Bridget Smith, Ginger Smith, Star Smith, Cyndi Hart, Jimmy Smith, Ranee Anderson, Mike Smith, Steve Bargo, and Rick Bargo, 21 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, siblings, Alpha Sawyers Jr. (Faith), Mayetta Beaumont (Terry), and Cleta Gross (Jimmy), his former wife, Sylvia Smith.

and by several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Visitation will be from 12noon - 2pm on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where his funeral service will be held at 2pm with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery.
