Jo Anne Zumbluskas

<p>CHURCHVILLE – Jo Anne Zumbluskas, 81, of Churchville, died Sunday (November 20, 2022) in her home. Jo lived her life to the fullest. Her deepest desire was to be more like Jesus, her Lord and Savior. She never ceased pursuing Him.</p><p><br></p><p>Born October 27, 1941 to James and Ruth Tapscott, she grew up in Florida with her three brothers. She spent most of her adult life in Fort Collins, Colo., where she was an avid tennis player. She also loved hiking in the Rocky Mountains. Jo was a life-long learner. One of her proudest accomplishments was having completed her nursing degree in her 50’s, which she achieved through the University of Northern Colorado. Jo married Patrick Kelly and together they had two children.</p><p><br></p><p>Jo moved to the Shenandoah Valley in 2003 and continued to play tennis, building up USTA tennis teams in the area. She was employed as a registered nurse by Rockingham Memorial Hospital and Staunton City Schools prior to retirement. Jo was an active member of Staunton Seventh-day Adventist Church. Generous and kind, she desired the best for her family and friends, and served them tirelessly.</p><p><br></p><p>She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Jerry Tapscott. Surviving are her son, Sean Kelly of San Antonio, Tex., a daughter, Adrianne Kelly Meisenheimer and husband Erik of Churchville; and one brother, Jim Tapscott of DeLand, Fla.</p><p><br></p><p>A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. December 4 in Staunton Seventh-day Adventist Church, officiated by Darin Hevener.</p><p><br></p><p>The family is grateful to their wonderful hospice team and to the many, many friends who prayed for and encouraged them to the end.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorials may be directed to Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah, c/o Augusta Health Foundation, PO Box 1000, Fishersville, VA 22939.</p><p><br></p><p>Bear Funeral Home is serving the family.
