Obituary
Sharon Simone Harris was born February 8, 1947 to Howard and Bernice Nelson in Prince Albert, SK. She was the oldest child followed by Lowell Nelson, Wanda (Nelson) Brown, Naomi (Nelson) Dyck, and Donita (Nelson) Cassell. During her youth they lived in several provinces in Canada, Living the longest in Quebec. After they moved back west to SK, she graduated from high school and work for some time before entering training to be a registered nurse in Saskatoon. After graduating from her nurse’s course her first job was at Nipawin Hospital where she worked for several years and eventually married Glenn Harris in 1974. In January of 1975 they moved to Hudson Bay where Glenn had a job at Sask. Forest Products as an electrician. Simone worked at the Hudson Bay hospital and then at the Pioneer Lodge. In 1994 she had a very bad arthritis attack and was unable to continue her nursing career. Her body gradually deteriorated due to the arthritis and in 2022 she had both knees replaced. After the 2nd knee replacement the physiotherapist discovered her vision was bad, so they did a CAT scan which showed she had a tumor on the right side of her brain. They then operated to remove part of the tumor. On the evening of November 13, 2022 she became very ill and was taken to Royal University Hospital where she passed away on the evening of November 15, 2022. You will always be loved and remembered by Glenn, your relatives and friends.
Donations in memory of Sharon Harris can be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Saskatoon Cancer Centre.
