Adam Christopher Wells Obituary

Adam Christopher Wells of New Berlin, Wisconsin, and most recently Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away Friday, Nov. 18, 2022 after a fierce 2 ½ year fight against glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. During this time, his motto was to never ever give up. Adam was born on January 8, 1982 and grew up in Saginaw, Michigan. After graduating from high school, he moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to attend the Milwaukee School of Engineering. He stayed there for 22 years. In that time, he discovered his life’s passion–working in the motorcycle industry. Most recently, he proudly worked at the Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Inc. headquarters as a Senior Technical Service Representative. He previously worked for EBR (Erik Buell Racing) and Hal’s Harley Davidson. Adam was always fascinated with motorcycles, cars, snowmobiles, planes, bicycles, and anything that “goes”. He also had a special gift for photographing the unique character of vintage steam engines, vintage planes, motorcycles, automobiles, and nature. When he wasn’t taking award-winning photographs, he loved playing electric guitar and letting it rock. Within the last year, he built a guitar collection that he was very proud of. Among his many other interests were auto racing, bicycling, history, nature, and consuming chocolate chip cookies baked by his three favorite nieces. Above all else, however, Adam loved his family and friends. With those closest to him, he shared a very quick and special wit. He greatly enjoyed quoting funny lines from movies. Most of all, he liked to joke with only a funny glance or facial expression. He had the gift to be able to say so much without saying anything at all. During more reflective times, he liked to share one of the most important lessons he learned in life: we live so long before we learn what really matters. Adam’s family would like to express their great appreciation for Froedtert Hospital and the Medical College of Wisconsin, especially the Hope Clinic where he received outstanding care.

Adam is survived by his mother Carol Wells of Grand Rapids, Michigan, sister Lauren Gagnon and brother-in-law Gregory of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and brother Eric Wells of Brooklyn, New York. He also leaves three very loved nieces (who called him the crazy uncle) Elisabeth, Madison and Emma, and many aunts, uncles and cousins who were the best family one could ask for. Adam was preceded in death by his father, Christopher Wells. Adam will be inurned with his father in Saginaw, MI in a private family service.
