<p>MAMOU – Ronnie Joe Burkett, 71, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at his residence in Mamou, LA. Ronnie Joe was born on February 1, 1951, in Orange Tx. to John Ferguson of Orange, Tx. and Eunice Rider McMamus of Mamou, but was raised by his uncle and aunt, Aldes and Hattie Guillory </p><p>Ronnie Joe lived in Mamou all his life. He was a house painter and enjoyed New Orleans Saints football, visiting with his friends, and he held a special place in his heart for his dog, Poodles. Ronnie Joe will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him. </p><p>Ronnie Joe is survived by his sister, Jo-Ann Minvielle and her husband, Jim, of New Iberia; his niece, Michelle Minvielle of Broussard; his nephew, Robert Minvielle and wife, Betsey; his 2 great nephews, 2 great nieces, and numerous cousins. </p><p>Ronnie Joe was preceded in death by his partner, Florence Hoadley; parents, John Ferguson and Eunice Rider McMamus; his brother, Ray Harris; his nephew, Zenon Harris; and his grandparents, Zenon and Ada Rider. </p><p>A Memorial service will be held at a later date. </p><p>Family and friends may leave condolences for the family at www.ardoinfuneralhomes.com. </p><p>Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou is in charge of arrangements. </p>

Ronnie Joe lived in Mamou all his life. He was a house painter and enjoyed New Orleans Saints football, visiting with his friends, and he held a special place in his heart for his dog, Poodles. Ronnie Joe will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
