BYRNE, DOUGLAS JOHN - Passed peacefully away with his loving family by his side, Douglas John Byrne, age 75 on November 16, 2022. Doug is predeceased by his superhero grandson Nathan Gibbons (July 2019); parents Mike and Emily Byrne; brothers Ken, Leo and Jack; and sister Eileen Codner. Doug leaves to mourn with treasured memories his devoted wife and best friend, Helen; his beloved children, Glenn (Karen), Leanne Gibbons (Eugene); Melissa (Greg), and Jonathan (Tiffany); his pride and joy, his precious grandchildren: cherished grandson Glenn-Douglas (Jillian); granddaughters Lillian and Emily (Poppy’s angels), and grandsons Trevor and Tristan; brothers Jerry (Emily), Michael (Gen), Ron (Anne), David and Joseph; sisters Tish (Laura) and Maureen Glynn (Pat); sister-in-law Bridget Byrne, and brother-in-law Bob Codner; brothers and sisters-in-law Fred and Susan Oates, Ron and Jennifer Janes, and Ted and Audrey Janes. Doug also leaves to mourn his furry friends Big Boy (Chase) and Sophie, and a large circle of nieces. nephews, cousins, and friends. The family would like to send a very special thank you to Dr. Peter Noel, Dr. Craig Pochini, Dr. Stewart Rorke, Dr. Jonathan Greenland, Dr. Stephen Hynes, and all the wonderful staff at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center for their care and compassion for Doug over the last several years. Doug was a kind and loving man who valued his family above all else and found so much joy in his children and grandchildren. We know that he is now reunited with his precious grandson Nathan and that they will be watching over our family. Cremation has taken place.
