Vernon Alvester Hines transitioned from this earth Tuesday, November 15, 2022 with his mother by his side at home.

Vernon was born March 10, 1960 in Portsmouth, VA to the late Leroy Hines. He was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School Norfolk, VA.

Vernon aka “Al Green” was a New York Giants fan which he really loved watching during the football season. He was the neighborhood bicycle mechanic.

Vernon worked several jobs until his health began to fail.

He leaves memory to; his Mother, Ellen L. White, Portsmouth, VA; one brother, Professor Elwin L. Hines, Sr.; two daughters, Vernisha C. Johnson, Mesquite, TX and Bianca Austin, Newport News, VA; three grandchildren; several uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
