Alfred I. “Buzz” Felch, 94, of Kensington, NH, died peacefully at his home after a brief illness on November 13, 2022. He was born in Exeter, NH on August 5, 1928 and grew up in Rhode Island, the son of the late Elbridge M. and Marion (Scott) Felch.


A longtime resident of Kensington, he served in the US Army and was stationed in Iceland during the Korean War. A builder and contractor by trade, he built a home for his family in Kensington in 1955 and owned and operated Alfred I. Felch Contractor Co. for many years.


Buzz was very involved in his community. He was a founding member of the Kensington Volunteer Fire Department, served as Assistant Fire Chief for many years, and was also a Fire Warden for Rockingham County. He was instrumental in establishing the town of Kensington Recycling Program, and was a representative of the town on the Seacoast Waste Management and Recycling Board. He also volunteered his skills and resources as a builder to maintain many of the historic buildings in the community including the First Congregational Church of Kensington, the Grange building, and the public library.


In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Nora E. Guidi; his stepson, Jay Jacobs; his first wife Jean E. (Grant) Felch who died in 1990; and his second wife Dorothy “Dolly” (Bodwell) Felch who died in 2014.


He is survived by his daughter, Naomi (& Douglas) Armstrong of Kensington, NH; four grandchildren, Gina (& Chris) McCleary, Anthony Guidi, Christina (& Scott) Shea, and Nathaniel (& Alyssa) Armstrong; seven great grandchildren, Elouise Armstrong, Oliver Armstrong, Josephine Armstrong, Patrick Shea, Mackenzie Shea, Owen McCleary and Colin McCleary; his son in law Gary Guidi; two stepsons, Andrew Jacobs of Idaho, and Brian Jacobs of New Mexico; and many nieces and nephews.


A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 11 AM at the First Congregational Church of Kensington, located on 108 Amesbury Rd., Kensington, NH. Guests attending that have not been vaccinated for COVID-19 are asked to please wear a mask to the ceremony. Burial will be held in the Village Cemetery in the spring.
