<p>Richard James Comley passed away on November 15, 2022, just a week before his 82nd birthday.</p><p><br></p><p>Richard was born and educated in Cohoes on Novemb</p><p>er 23, 1940 to the late Alec and Florrie (Dodson) Comley and was a graduate of Cohoes High School.</p><p>A first generation American, he loved all things English. Upon graduation, Richard joined the United States Army, serving in Germany.</p><p><br></p><p>After the service, Richard worked for American optical for a short time and then began his career with the State of New York in the Retirement System for many years. He retired early due to poor health.</p><p><br></p><p>Richard loved working with horses, riding, driving, and training for many years. More recently he enjoyed going to casinos, movies, cruising and dinners with his wife. His love of music, especially classical was well known. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was very loyal to his friends.</p><p><br></p><p>Richard was predeceased by his siblings, Jack (Alice) Comley, William (Frances) Coley, Albert Comley, Robert (Mary) Comley, Sallie Mae (John) Imirie and Beryl (Blake) Danner.</p><p><br></p><p>Richard is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Patricia “Patty”, his sister-in-law, Lois Comley of Schenectady and many nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services for Richard will be private.</p><p><br></p><p>Interment in Memory Gardens in Colonie, NY</p><p><br></p><p>Please consider a memorial gift in Richard’s memory to organization of one’s choosing.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
