Brij Lal Kaul Obituary

Brij Lal Kaul

1928- 2022

With great sadness and heavy heart, we have to inform you that our Dad, Grandfather, Great Grandfather Dr. Brij Lal Kaul peacefully passed away on Sunday morning, November 13th, 2022 at his home, Waltham Massachusetts. After his recent hospitalization, Daddy-ji was quite peaceful and equanimous as if he was preparing to leave this body. He was 94 years old.

Originally from Srinagar, Kashmir, he along with his family moved to Faridabad in 1991 and later immigrated to the USA in 1997. He worked for the J&K Education Department and retired as Principal, Amar Singh College, Srinagar. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Lahore College, Master's Degree from Aligarh Muslim University and Doctor of Philosophy from M.S. University Baroda.

He was the only son of Smt. Dhanwati Kaul and Shri Jia Lal Kaul. After getting married to his beloved wife Mohini-ji Kaul, together they started a loving and caring family. His parents were proud to have a son like him, his wife felt fortunate to have a loving & caring husband like him; his three sons and one daughter were truly blessed to have a family-oriented father like him. He loved his family and did everything humanly possible to support and build each of his children.

Daddy-ji was a special human being with a great sense of humor; he was wise and led a very simple but exemplary life. He was very affectionate and greeted everyone with a smile. He was always ready to help people who came to him for any kind of help. His friends and extended family adored him as he was a people’s person. He was all this and much more, but, above all, he was just a decent human being with great values.

Daddy-ji is survived by his two great grandchildren, six grandchildren, four children and their spouses. Also, countless others considered him as if he was their father and had wonderful and strong relationships with them. People who knew him will agree that very few people in this world are like that.

Family and friends will feel his loss in the years to come. We all are, as result of this loss, a lot poorer today. We pray for his soul to attain MOKSHA. He will live in our memories forever.

Though loss of a great grandparent, grandparent and parent is extremely difficult to bear, but we look at his life and accomplishment with a great deal of pride. He did very well in his life, making everyone proud with his achievements and lived a content and satisfactory life.

We plan to celebrate his life and legacy in addition to final rites and cremation as follows:

May His Memories Be A Blessing

For you, who we so deeply loved and who so deeply loved us, that love will forever remain as a treasure in our memories.

We do wish that we had another day with you to hear from you more and to hold you in embrace a little longer.

Yet we understand that we cannot change Almighty’s plans

We only bow in prayer to Almighty

Our memory of you is a happy one

You left an afterglow of smiles

You left an echo whispering softly down the ways

of happy times and laughing times

Forever you shall remain a blessing for us.

During past three days, as we sat beside your bedside,

Our hearts were crushed and sore,

We did our best to the end, till we could do no more.

In tears we watched you go,

Though our hearts were breaking, we knew you could not stay.

You left behind some aching hearts, that loved you most sincere.

We shall never ever forget you, O Father Dear.
