Thomas John Nors Sr., age 68, of West, passed away early Monday afternoon, November 14, 2022 at West Rest Haven.

A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by his nieces, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek and Rev. John Boiko as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Tom was born July 2, 1954 in Waco, the son of John and Emily (Gerich) Nors. He attended St. Mary's School and was a 1972 graduate of West High School. On August 6, 1977 he was united in marriage to Teresa Lenart in Abbott. Tom was a lifelong and faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. He was also a member of St. Mary's Quarterback Club, KJT Society #31, West Volunteer Ambulance Auxiliary, a Eucharistic Minister to the homebound, and helped the original Junior Historians and Abbott Czech Dancers with polka dancing. He worked for H&R Carpet, St. Mary's School, West Hardware, Ben Franklin Store, and the Waco Independent School District Bus Barn. Tom enjoyed being the dugout "Momma" for Teri's softball team, eating at all of the local restaurants, visiting with the afternoon men's Tiger Stop group, dancing, listening to polka music, anything John Deere, and was an avid Texas A&M Aggie and Baylor Bears fan. Tom loved spending time with his family, especially his grandsons who he taught old school hand shakes.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Edwin Nors; and a niece, Cindy Nors.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 45 years, Teresa Nors of West; his children, Thomas Nors Jr. of West, Nick Nors and wife Christy of West, and Teri MacNabb and husband Robert of Buffalo; his grandsons, Johnathon and William Nors; an honorary daughter, Julie Ivie; a brother, Robert Nors and wife Georgie; a sister, Jeanette Urbanovsky and husband Frank; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers are Ernie Joe Kolar, Randy Nors, Bradley Nors, Greg Nors, Doug Nors, Bobby Nors, Andrew Urbanovsky, and Jon-Erik Lenart. Honorary pallbearers are his Goddaughters, Amy Russell, Renee Ebeling, Sara Lenart, and Veronica Sell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Scholarship Fund for Johnathon and William at Pointwest Bank.
