Island Falls – Cora (Berry) Batchelder, 69, died on November 9, 2022, after a short illness and hospital stay. She was born on September 15, 1953 in Farmington, Maine, the daughter of Robert and Louise Berry.

Cora was passionate about gardening, canning vegetables and making jams out of the many fruits that she harvested. Later after she became chair bound due to MS, she loved watching Gunsmoke, Investigative Discovery, reading, doing word finds and playing Joker Rummy with anyone that would sit for a bit. She most loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and family.

Cora is survived by her husband of 42 years, Floyd Batchelder, her children Susan Batchelder of Bangor, Jay Batchelder and wife Michelle of Island Falls, and Angela Smith and husband Dirk of Lincoln. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Zack Batchelder, Jasmine Batchelder, Austin Smith, Tyler Batchelder and wife Katelyn Batchelder, Tanor Batchelder, Sarah Holt, Abigail Smith and Sophie Colella. Her great grandchildren - Avery Batchelder, Briella Mitchell and Waylon Batchelder. Bonus grandchildren Brittany Gayne, Vanessa Swallow and MJ Charette. She is survived by her siblings, Roberta Brooks of Island Falls, Steven Berry and Donna of Island Falls and many other family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Robert and Louise and her siblings, Norman Berry, George Berry and Carla Conrad.

A celebration of life will be held on November 20, 2022 at the Island Falls Snowmobile Club at 1:00 p.m.

The family would like to extend their most sincere thanks to the staff at Houlton Regional Hospital that cared for her during her last days.
