Cheryl Ann Mathews, age 63, of Faribault, died November 12, 2022, at her home.

Cheryl Ann, the daughter of Donald and Elvera (Peterson) Wedde was born November 8, 1959, in Iola, WI. She graduated from Red Wing High School. She loved to work with children and families and she enjoyed all areas of nursing. Cheryl worked from the ground up, first as a nurse’s aid with Mayo Clinic Health systems and later as a registered nurse for Owatonna Schools, home health nursing, Faribault Public Health, and Shattuck St. Mary’s School as a school nurse. She loved traveling and the simple things in life like learning and seeing new things, nature, making maple syrup, mushroom hunting, bird watching and raising chickens. Cheryl was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Faribault, enjoyed volunteering at schools and in her community including food distribution and donation and was a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was an active member of Alanon and saw a shrink regularly. Most of all, she loved all of her children and grandsons.

Survivors include her children, Joshua, Jacob and Catherine Mathews; grandsons, Tennon, Aiden, Liam, Jakobe, Salem and Zane; mother; Elvera Walker; partner, Jay Quinnell; siblings, Christine Linder and Charles Wedde; special friends, Tammy Dotson and Kathy Wright; other relatives and friends.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Donald Wedde; brother, Cal Wedde; father of her children, Joseph Mathews and step father, Roger Walker.
