<p>Graveside services to celebrate the life of Mr. Richard Steven Thomas, 65, will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Gardens. Rev. David Gilmore will be officiating. Visitation will be held at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Steve died on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at UAB Hospital.</p><p>Preceding Steve in death are his parents, Jack H. Thomas, Sr. and Opal Thomas.</p><p>Left to cherish the memory of Steve are his brother, Jack H. Thomas, Jr; his life-long partner, Shirley Cook; adopted friends and family to include, Melissa Bussey, Bobby Sullivan, John and Lula Pelfrey, Glenn Davis, Aaron Teal, Megan Sullivan, Brittney Tirban, Isabelle Taylor, Amber Hardy, Brenda Kitchens and family, and his namesake, Steven Pelfrey.</p><p>Pallbearers will be Bobby Sullivan, Glenn Davis, Steven Pelfrey, Paul Williams, Larry Sexton, and Jason Tirban. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Crow and John Pelfrey.</p><p>Steve was a wonderful person with a heart of gold. He was the kindest person you could meet and love his family and friends dearly. Steve retired from Union Foundry and enjoyed spending his spare time on the river. He also liked wintertime in the woods, hunting and fishing, and was a HUGE Alabama fan.
