Lucy Mae Chapman

Lucy Mae Chapman was born on January 4, 1924 in Newsome, VA. She married Mathew Chapman, Sr. To their union four children were born.

Mrs. Chapman worked in the service community for her entire life. She helped nurture and raise many children. Mrs. Chapman has helped many people during her life. She was a passionate, dependable and strong person. She was a good provider for her family. Mrs. Chapman was a faithful member of the Pastor’s Aide ministry at Fourth Baptist Church. She was one of the best dressed people of FBC. The words of one of Mrs. Chapman’s favorite songs was When He calls me, I will answer. I will be somewhere listening for my name.

Mrs. Chapman leaves to cherish her memory a son, Mathew Chapman, Jr., daughter-in-law, Mercedes Chapman, grandchildren and a host of other relatives.

Mrs. Chapman was predeceased by her husband, Mathew Chapman, Sr., daughters Katura and Daisy Mae Miller and son Anthony Leroy Chapman.
