Ricky Bernard Moye Obituary

Ricky Bernard Moye was born to the late Iscon N. Moye and Emma Moye, on November 18, 1958, in Newark NJ. He transitioned from this earthly dwelling on November 6, 2022.

Ricky grew up with his siblings in the Stella Wrights Homes, Newark NJ.  He attended Charlton St. Elementary School (A.K.A Louise A. Spencer). Ricky, later moved to North Carolina where he spent some of his high school years. Later, he returned to Newark, NJ and graduated from Central High School, in Newark NJ.

Ricky became a member of Emmanuel Church of Christ, D.O.C., and was baptized at an early age; under the Leadership of Bishop H.N. Foy.  Ricky worked as a waste collector for LaFerrari Construction Company, Belleville, NJ, a bank teller for First National Bank, Newark, NJ, and later for Waste Management, in Newark NJ. He learned many trades from his own father which afforded him several other jobs opportunities throughout his life. Ricky was also a caregiver for his late uncle, Frank Lucas.

Ricky loved reading and researching a plethora of things.  Out of his love for reading, the Bible bought him the most pleasure. He read the Bible daily and could recite scriptures at moment's notice. Ricky loved being around family, friends, and going on adventures. Ricky was a very loving and down to earth person who could talk for hours and hours. Sports and news were his favorite things to watch any time of the day. He was a great cook and loved to clean.

Ricky was married to the late Marlena (Clyburn) Moye.  He had an irresistible smile, infectious laugh and was fierce when needed.

Ricky leaves to cherish his memory-three daughters; Lakeesha Clyburn, Shantia Clyburn Moye, Domonique Boyd; one son, Syid Boyd; mother Emma Moye, three sisters, Diane Clemmons (Joseph) New Jersey, Juliette Lawson (William) North Carolina; Evangelist JoAnn Somerville, New Jersey, two brothers, Iscon Moye Jr, New Jersey, Steven Moye (Lisa), Albany NY; Aunts, Mattie Lassiter, Newark, NJ. and Gladys Lucas, New Jersey; and uncles: Lawrence Lucas (Ruby), North Carolina, LeeVon Lucas, Louisiana and Ezell Lucas, New Jersey; Six grandchildren: LaQuan, Raylene, Sarayna, Makai, Devante, Milo; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends
