<p>Marie Rose “Irene” Wilson nee Boucher of Binscarth, Manitoba passed away November 1, 2022 at Russell Hospital. In September she celebrated her 85th birthday with her children and siblings. </p><p>Irene was born September 20, 1937 in Ste. Madeleine, a Metis Settlement. She was the fourth born of thirteen to Joseph and Agnes Boucher. As a teenager she was known as “The Binscarth Canary”. She loved to sing solo and performed in many festivals. She also played clarinet in the school band and was crowned Binscarth Winter Carnival Queen in 1954. She left Binscarth in 1955 to attend Provincial Normal School in Winnipeg. While attending school, her cousin Shirley Nault set her up on a blind date where she was introduced to and fell in love with a Navy guy, Ron S. Wilson from Minnedosa. </p><p>Amid a Spring snowstorm in April of 1956, Irene and Ron were married. That fall they moved to Victoria where Ron was stationed at the Naval Base in&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Esquimalt. There, they had two of their daughters, Ronda (Frandsen) and Karen (Barrett). In 1960 Irene and Ron moved to Winnipeg. A few years after&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; returning to Winnipeg they had their third daughter Brenda (Tuckett). </p><p>Health issues were a challenge, but she was resilient! With her gregarious&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; personality she easily made new friends everywhere she went. She was honest, dependable, generous, thoughtful, prayerful and loved an adventure! Family and friends were always welcome to stop in anytime for visits, meals or parties. Many family members and friends lived with them while Irene was at home raising their daughters. Their home was always a safe harbour with an open door, a hot meal and a warm bed. </p><p>She worked weekends for 2 years at a wholesale clothing store called&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Brownstones. She spent many years working at The Bay with the last five years as a Christmas Toy coordinator. She loved working at The Bay. Irene taught Drivers Education in Winnipeg. In 1993 Irene and Ron relocated to Binscarth where she continued teaching Drivers Education. </p><p>They loved to camp and travel to warmer destinations. Many lasting friendships were created along the way. Irene was an amazing seamstress, knitter and loved to bake. She enjoyed many crafts like ceramics and decoupage. She loved shoes, jewelry and getting her nails and hair done. She kept up to date on the latest fashion and always looked her best. She participated in Red Hat Society, Banana Belt, Catholic Women’s League and taught Sunday School. </p><p>Irene is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Agnes Boucher and her brother Harry Boucher. </p><p>Irene is survived by her husband Ron of 66 years, her daughters Ronda (Jorgen Frandsen), Karen (Grant Barrett) and Brenda (Jim Tuckett). Grandchildren Ryan Frandsen, Erik (Kristin) Frandsen, Evan Frandsen, Lisa Barrett (Mike), Blaine (Brittany) Barrett, Sydnee Tuckett (Kevin), Jodi Brown (Walker), Levi Tuckett, Caleb Tuckett, Hannah Tuckett, Julia Tuckett and Emma Tuckett. Great grandchildren Cole and Chase Frandsen, Sam Barrett and Gabrielle Usarewicz, Lenix and Paige Barrett. She is also survived by 6 sisters, 5&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; brothers, several cousins, numerous nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and nephews. </p><p>&nbsp; </p>
