Harold L. Highland, Jr. Obituary

Harold Leeper Highland, age 84, of Westerville, OH, died at Riverside Hospital on November 7, 2022. He was born on August 16, 1938 in Denver, CO. On May 20, 1990 he married his companion of 44 years, Annette Lieber Highland. Survivors include his wife Annette, daughter Susan Wooten of Baltimore, MD, son Donald Highland, of Florida and stepson William Burke Hill of Columbus, OH. He was proceeded in death by parents Harold Sr. and Elizabeth (Jarvis) Highland.

Harold volunteered with many dog rescue groups, particularly with Veteran Companion Animals Services. He also transported dogs and fostered many dogs. He will be missed by his family, friends and his special K-9 companions Molly and Andy.

Harold served 10 years in the Unites States Air Force, achieving the rank of Staff Sargent. He owned Tippy's Taco House in Lincoln Village, on Columbus' Westside. He ended his career as a claims adjuster.

Harold was a member of the Westerville Senior Center where he played pool with a group of friends.

In May of this year, Harold enjoyed touring Washington D.C. with Honor Flight. He was gratified by the overwhelming support shown by the community on his return to Columbus.
