Ida Lee Mills

<p>Ida Lee Rodgers Mills (“I-Lee”, “MawMaw”) was born in Mangham, Louisiana to the late Thomas Rodgers, Sr., and Ella Lee Green on January 19, 1939.&nbsp; She was reared by her aunt, Ida Dixon.&nbsp; She received her wings on November 6, 2022, at the home of her caretakers, William and Rosie Wiley, and is now in the presence of the Lord. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>Ida Lee received Christ at an early age and was a member of Morning Star 1 in Mangham, Louisiana.&nbsp; She sang in the choir and was the lead soloist when singing “I don’t know who Holds Tomorrow” and “May the Work I have Done Speak for me.” &nbsp;She later joined Sweet Home Baptist Church when she relocated to Maringouin, Louisiana. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>Ida Lee planted seeds of service to the community of Maringouin as she drove friends to their doctor’s appointments, collected and delivered commodities for the needy, cooked and served at funerals and weddings, and helped wherever she was needed. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>She leaves to cherish her memories 3 daughters:&nbsp; Rosie (William) Wiley, Elsie (Charles) McClean of Prairieville, Louisiana, and Joyce (Leon) Powell of Baton Rouge, Louisiana,; 2 sons: Overseer Muriel (Co-Pastor Sharon) Brown of Patterson, Louisiana, and Johnny (Monique) Mills of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; 25 grandchildren: Atrail, Trevelin, Kavonda, Kendra, LaToya, Tamsyn, Tamyra, Tamberlynn, Katrice, Ken, Kimberly, Keith, Kevin, Charlysa, Brandy, Skylar, Gloria, &nbsp;Johnny III, Ka’Liyah, Demetri’al, Ja’Mya, Mario, Carlos, and Charles;&nbsp; 37 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren; 10 sisters: Florence (Jesse) Smith, Ledora (Orlando) Woods, Sarah (Ike) Marion-Franklin, Deborah (Robert) Thompson, Doris Mitchell, Rosie Marion, Hattie Johnson, Gloria Rogers, Cora (Joseph) Leonard, Linda Rodgers; 6 brothers: Alfred (Margaret) Robinson, Tyler Marion Jr., Willie Louring, Edward Rodgers, Melvin Rodgers, and Thomas Rodgers; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; Special friends: Lucille Pryor, Elizabeth “Nicky” Wiley, Ernest &amp; Annie Mae Overton, and Georgia Mae Moore.&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>She was a member of the Iberville Council on Aging and the Senior Flower Club of Maringouin, Louisiana. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Mills; her parents, Ella Lee Green, Thomas Rogers, and Ida Dixon; five sisters, Ella Mae Smith and Lucille Banks, Anna Mary McMahon, Essie Mae McFarland, Shelly Mae Rodgers, three brothers Jimmy Rodgers, Danny Rodgers and Melvin Rodgers, and a granddaughter, Ja’Laycia Mills. </p>
