Frederick Charles Lynch Obituary

With his son and daughter by his side, Fred Lynch peacefully passed away on December 29, 2014 at the age of 84. He was born in Belmond Iowa to Frederick "Guy" and Hazel Lynch on November 21, 1930. The third of four children he moved with his parents and siblings Dave, Laura and Paul to Bellingham, Washington where he graduated from Bellingham High School in 1948. He married Patricia Donetta Sackett on June 18, 1954. They had two children, Mark and Kathy and were married for 52 years. Pat passed away in 2006. Fred worked for Oesar Cedar Co., J.H. Baxter Co., and upon his retirement from the pole business went to work with his son Mark in the parts department at Jerry Chambers Chevrolet. Not every father and son have the opportunity to work together and it was a great time, many good friendships were made. In Fred's spare time he enjoyed camping along the river in Rockport with Pat, old car shows with Mark, an occasional game of golf and anything that involved spending time with his family, especially visits from his great grandkids! The candy dish was always full and Coby's standard greeting was "Hi Ampa, may I please have a piece of candy?" We all knew the reply every single time would be "Coby, you can have two." Of course this was said with a huge smile and a twinkle in his eyes. Fred is survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, Mark Lynch and Jenny Olson-Edwards, Julian Edwards, John Edwards and Jordan Edwards; Brian and Kathy Christie; Jared Cole and Lacey Taylor, Ethan, Jackson, Coby and Olivia Jane; Aubrey Patterson, Lincoln and Averly; sister-in-law Jean Lynch; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jean and Glenn Carlson; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and the caregivers and residents at Lousia Place who have become extended family to us all. Fred was preceded in death by his parents Guy and Hazel; his wife Pat; brother and sister-in-law Dave and Diane Lynch; sister and brother-in-law Laura and Bill Carlson and his brother Paul Lynch. The family thanks Louisa Place and Hospice for their care and compassion and know that Fred would be honored by donations made in his name to either Hospice or the Whatcom County Humane Society. It is his request that he be laid to rest quietly with no formal service. It is out of love and tremendous respect for our Dad that we honor his last request. Rest in peace Dad, you have earned it. Arrangements are by Jerns Funeral Chapel, final rest at Bayview Cemetery.
