Andrew Shane Baker Obituary

Andrew Shane Baker (Drew). 26, of Dayville died unexpectedly on Monday. November 7, 2022 in the town of Brooklyn along with his unborn baby daughter. Drew was born in Putnam, Connecticut on January 22, 1996 to Hannah Walsh and Jeremy Baker. He went to school in Killingly and graduated from Killingly High school in 2014. Drew was well liked at Frito Lay where he worked as a driver. He was a veteran and served as an MP in the U.S. Army. Drew loved boating, fishing, hunting and shooting with his dad, stepdad, and younger brothers and sister.

This past spring, on June 4, 2022, Andrew married his love, Gabrielle L. Metrano in Westerly, RI on the beach. He and Gabby were overjoyed to be expecting their first baby, Elizabeth Emilee, this December. They had lovingly prepared for her arrival and filled her nursery with sunflowers. Baby Beth was much wanted and wished for by our whole family. Drew is undoubtedly holding her heavenly spirit in his arms.

Drew is survived by his wife, Gabby, his mom and stepdad, Hannah and Cliff Davis, his dad, Jeremy Baker, his younger brothers, Owen and Matthew Davis, his younger sister, Shyah Baker, his maternal grandparent, Nancy Horne, and his paternal grandparents, Bill and Maureen Baker. He is also dearly loved and will be missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, his best friend, Jesse Whitehead, and their loyal German Shepherd, Laika. Drew was predeceased by his grandfather, Bruce Walsh, who shared his love of fishing and who he believed to be his guardian angel.

Calling hours for Elizabeth and Drew will be held in Tillinghast Funeral Home 433 Main Street Danielson on Friday November 18, 2022 from 4-7PM. A graveside service for Elizabeth and Drew with full military honors will be held on Saturday November 19, 2022 at 11AM at Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson.

The families wish to extend our sincere thanks to the first responders, the staff at Brooklyn Farm and Pet, Brooklyn Veterinary Hospital, and the medical team at Women and Infants Hospital who are currently working to care for his wife, Gabby. Fervent prayers for our heartbroken families are greatly appreciated.
