Alyce Elizabeth Norrell (Betty), a long-time resident of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away surrounded by family on November 6th, 2022. 

She was the oldest daughter born to Richard and Alice Wiggins on November 7th, 1934, in Atlanta, Georgia. She attended Sacred Heart High School and often spoke fondly of her friends and her time playing basketball there. She met her husband, John Norrell, in high school, and they married in 1953. She was a loving and devoted wife to John and mother to their six children. She worked as an administrative assistant and volunteered as a poll worker for many years before she retired. She loved spending time with her family, cherished pets, music, and dancing.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Marko Norrell, Sr., and her parents, Richard and Betty Wiggins. She is survived by her sister, Joan Snedden of DeLand, Florida; six children, Mark Norrell (Mary Pat) of Peachtree Corners, Alyse Renfroe (Mike) of Avondale, AZ, Ricky Norrell of Stone Mountain, Angel Head (Keith) of Snellville, Teresa Moon of Westminster, SC and Kathleen Poole (Shawn) of Winston, GA, 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Bill Head Funeral Homes and Crematory Duluth Chapel, 770-476-2535. A funeral mass will be held Friday, November 11th, 2022, at noon at St. Oliver Plunkett Catholic Church in Snellville, Georgia, with Father Joseph Everton and Deacon Mike Byrne serving as Celebrants. Interment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Duluth.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org/georgia) which was close to her heart.
