Shirley Twitty Sims, 87 of Great Falls, formerly of Kershaw, passed away on Sunday afternoon in Rock Hill Post Acute Care Center, November 6.

Born May 27, 1935 in Kershaw, she was a daughter of the late Georgie and Eliza Langley Twitty. Mrs. Sims retired from Duracell Incorporated after 20 plus years service. She was member of First Baptist Church in Great Falls. Shirley enjoyed spending time with family babysitting her many grandchildren and traveling when the opportunity arose.

Surviving are 4 daughters, Vickie Vincent (Toby) of Kershaw, Linda Wright (Neal) of Surfside Beach, Cindy Taylor (Ken) of Edgemoor and Stacy Harris (Chris) of Richurg; 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, James Edward Sims, son, Michael Dean Sims and daughter, Gayle Sims Lee.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 9 ,at 12:00 noon at Baker Funeral Home with burial following at Haile Gold Mine Baptist Church Cemetery, 7980 Haile Gold Mine Road, Kershaw, SC 29067.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 8, in Baker Funeral Home from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Riverview Hospice, 1393 Celense Road, Rock Hill, S.C. 29732.
