<p>Eleanor Mary DeWitt, 82, of Sang Run, MD, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at Cherry Hill Assisted Living, Accident, MD.</p><p><br></p><p>Born May 7, 1940, in Sanborn, MN, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Emma (Hengel) Blankenhagen. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Carl Jackson DeWitt; two sisters, Jeanette Risting and Dorothy Nachreiner; and one brother, Donald Blankenhagen.</p><p><br></p><p>Eleanor worked at Safeway Grocery Store, Colorado Springs, CO and Honolulu, HI, for a combined total of 15 years. She worked at H.P. Warehouse, Oakland, MD, for three years before becoming a stay-at-home mom to her two daughters. She loved going to her grandson’s sporting events, playing cards and mowing grass.</p><p><br></p><p>She is survived by two daughters, Roxie Umbel and Jackie (Mark) Hinebaugh, all of Friendsville, MD; four grandsons, Cody Jack (Molly) Eyler; Jeffrey Eyler, Austin Hinebaugh and Chase Umbel; one great-granddaughter, Berkeley Shay Eyler; and nine nieces and nephews in Minnesota.</p><p><br></p><p>Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 26722 Garrett Hwy., Accident, MD, on Thursday, November 10, 2022, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Matt Trezise officiating. Interment will be in the Sang Run Cemetery.</p><p><br></p><p>Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Mtn.
