Linda Gayle Smith, age 68, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away November 7, 2022. Linda was born in Louisville, Kentucky, to William and Velma Naegele on September 11, 1954.

She attended Tell City High School in Tell City, Indiana. For most of her career, she worked as a supervisor and safety manager for a food processing plant. She was an active member of the Catholic Church.

Linda was married to Doyle Smith. To this union they had one daughter, Katina Lakey. After Doyle’s passing, Linda had a special friend, Steve Allen, in her life for over five years until her passing.

Her parents, William and Velma; and husband, Doyle Smith, preceded Linda in death. Linda is survived by her daughter, Katina Lakey; grandson Shane Lakey; and her special friend, Steve Allen.

Linda enjoyed dancing and Zumba classes, as well as spending time with her family and her church.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A committal service will be held at the wall on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri, where Linda will be laid to rest next to her husband, Doyle. If the weather is storming, the service will held at the committal shelter instead of the wall.

Care and arrangements have been entrusted to Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Ltd. DeGraffenreid-Wood Crematory, Springfield, Missouri.
