Alan Thomas Pickett (1967-2022)


We are saddened to announce the death of Alan Thomas Pickett, aged 55, who passed away suddenly from a coronary incident on Saturday, October 29, 2022.


Alan was born on January 27,1967, in Dunedin, Florida to Judith Wyatt Sherman and Neal Yarborough Pickett. Both preceded Alan in death.


Alan graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Houston, Texas. He attended Texas Tech University. After college, Alan lived in the Dallas area, eventually moving to the beautiful central Texas area, including Austin and San Marcos, where he worked as Sales Manager and Groundskeeper for many years. Alan eventually landed a successful career as a liquor and wine merchant. Alan was also known to be deeply involved in political causes, working for a successful presidential campaign. Alan is survived by his fiancée, Catherine Bower, as well as her two sons, Jamuson Bower-Walter and Kyan Bower-Walter; siblings, Margaret "Pegi" Pickett of Austin, Jason and JoAnna Pickett of Keller, Kyle and Suzanne Pickett of Houston, Ryan and Sharon Pickett of Waskom, TX; nieces and nephews, Jack, Maddie, Kyle Jr., Bonnie, Christina Pickett, and Norris Edmundson; stepfather, Raiden Sherman of Rome, GA, aunt, Betsi Wilson of Lilburn, GA; and numerous cousins and extended family throughout Texas and Georgia. Besides his mother and father, Alan is also preceded in death by his stepmother, Bonnie Pickett, and his grandparents, Cornelius and Margaret Pickett of Brazoria, TX and Reynolds and Helen Wyatt of Dunedin, FL.


A small ceremony will be held at noon on November 26, 2022 at the Brazoria Cemetery, located at:

200 Tennis St.

Brazoria, TX 77422


Because Alan brought so much joy and laughter to so many, we will have a celebration of his wonderful life with a pictorial montage and fun stories told by friends & family members. The celebration will take place on November 26, 2022 from 3pm to 6pm at:

1906 Manila Ln.

Houston, TX 77043


We truly hope that everyone can join us and participate in the joy that was Alan‘s life, cut short far too soon!
