John William Weems

<p>John William Weems, age 70, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.</p><p>He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kim Thompson Weems and their daughters Erin Elizabeth Weems (Stephen Jones) and Dr. Patricia Abigail Weems, as well as his brother Charles Clifford Weems, Jr. (Natalie Mobley), and his large extended family.</p><p>He was born in Columbia, MS, to the late Charles Clifford and Ernestine Pickle Weems. John graduated from The University of Mississippi and the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy. He was a proud fan of the Ole Miss Rebels.</p><p>A kind and thoughtful man, he loved his family and quietly and diligently served the Mobile community as a pharmacist at Providence and Springhill Hospitals for 45 years. He had many interests that included kayaking, tending his garden and sharing his vegetables, hiking the Appalachian Trail with friends, traveling with his family, and fly fishing on Fowl River. John captured the joy of his life in his own words: “My life is better than your vacation.”</p><p>The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Pat Nolan, Dr. Thad Beeker, and the staff at Springhill Medical Center.</p><p>In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Fowl River Fire Department or the Appalachian Trail Conservancy.</p><p>A private memorial service will be held at the family home on Fowl River. Arrangements are by Ascension Funeral Home, 1016 Hillcrest Road, Mobile, Alabama 36695.</p><p><br></p>

John William Weems, age 70, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kim Thompson Weems and their daughters Erin Elizabeth Weems (Stephen Jones) and Dr. Patricia Abigail Weems, as well as his brother Charles Clifford Weems, Jr. (Natalie Mobley), and his large extended family.
