<p>Mary Alice Simmons, daughter of the late Clarence Roy &amp; Nellie Alvera (Carlson) McVeigh, was born on January 20, 1933 and departed this life on November 5, 2022. At the time of her passing, she was eighty-nine years, nine months and sixteen days of age.</p><p><br></p><p>Mary was preceded in passing by her parents; husband, Ed Simmons; four brothers, Russell McVeigh, Elbert McVeigh, Paul McVeigh and Philip McVeigh; and three sisters, Helen Elliott, Shirley Brown and Erma Morgan</p><p><br></p><p>She is survived by her daughter, Marianne &amp; husband John Van Horn; three step-children, George &amp; wife Jan Simmons, Jean &amp; husband Ed Butler and Mary Ann &amp; husband Rick Kuntz; and one granddaughter, Stephanie Gellerman. She also leaves behind many friends and other family members who will all truly miss her.</p><p><br></p><p>Mary was born, raised and attended high school in Algona, Iowa. Following her high school graduation, she attended Broadlawns School of Nursing, in Des Moines, Iowa, where she would later graduate with her degree in nursing, later becoming a registered nurse. In 1971, she would move to California and would later meet Ed Simmons. They would be united in marriage in 1975, sharing thirty-two years together. In 1981, they moved to Camdenton, Missouri, where Mary would begin working for NHC Osage Beach Rehab &amp; Healthcare Center, as the first registered nurse hired. She would then begin working for the Camden County Health Department, where she would remain until her retirement.</p><p><br></p><p>Mary made a profession of faith and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Camdenton for over twenty years.</p><p>In her spare time, Mary loved to collect dolls and volunteer at Lake Regional Hospital, which she truly enjoyed.</p><p><br></p><p>She was a loving and a caring mother, grandmother, neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 11, 2022 in Our Savior Lutheran Church.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorial donations may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church and left at the church the day of the service.</p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.</p>
