<p>Clint never met a stranger. He was a friend to all. His faith in the fundamental goodness of everyone was absolute. He would overlook even the worst mean spirited acts with a smile. He enjoyed sharing his many talents and stories with everyone. </p><p><br></p><p>Clinton Harvey Adams was born August 15, 1934 in Carpenter, OK to Frank and Mary Elizabeth Isner Adams. When Clint was seven years old the family moved to Elmira, NY. Following World War 11, the family moved to Silver City, NM, later settling in Kilgore, TX where he attended Kilgore public school.</p><p><br></p><p>Clint joined the Navy in 1952, serving aboard the USS Ault DD698. Following an operational tour in Korea, the vessel went on to complete a world cruise. After completion of his military duty, he attended Kilgore College. He attained a BS Degree from Lamar State University, Masters Degree from East Texas State University and did post graduate work at North Texas University, University of Texas and Western Kentucky University.</p><p><br></p><p>Clint taught school for five and one-half years in Beaumont,Tx before moving to Midland. For the next thirty-three years, he taught and served as principal at West, South, Burnett, Long and Milan Elementary Schools. After retirement from MISD, he enrolled and graduated from the Permian Basin Law Enforcement Academy.</p><p><br></p><p>After six and one-half years with the Midland Police Dept. He retired again to pursue his many interest; riding his motorcycles, RV’ing with Karleen and Dakota (cat) and later Bella, and learning to play the bagpipes. As a young US Navy veteran, he vowed that one day he would play the Great Highland Bagpipes. Full retirement provided the opportunity to become totally immersed in the pipes and Celtic music. He attended many piping schools in Colorado, Missouri and California. A naturally developed interest in rhythm soon added Ireland’s oldest instrument, the Bodhran, to his repertoire. An intense love of jigs, reels, polkas and airs has led progressively to many hours of retirement pleasure. As a veteran, he became a member of the Patriot Guard and was honored to be the “ official bagpiper” for the 2014 thru 2018 Honor Flights.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his wife and best friend, Karleen, daughters, Gina Marie Foust of Colorado, Lara Elizabeth Martin of Lubbock, grandchildren, Alexandra Lynn Foust , Joshua Aaron Sweighert of Colorado and Payton Calvin Martin of Victoria, TX, brother, Larry Adams and family of Rhome, Tx. special friend and stepson, Ray Williams, Kellie, great granddaughters Laynie,Payton and Sydney Clark, sister in law, Dianne Nowell of Frisco, Tx. </p><p><br></p><p>The family wishes to thank those precious ladies and friends made while Clint was at Legacy Ranch, the Hospice of Midland ladies who attended Clint with loving care. Special thanks to Veronica, Jody and Crystal.
