<p>Jacqueline K. Penney, 80, a beloved sister and aunt, passed peacefully on October 29, 2022 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. </p><p><br></p><p>She was born in Sanford on November 24, 1941, the daughter of Freeman B. and Doris I. (Mullins) Penney. She was affectionately known as Jackie. </p><p><br></p><p>Jacqueline was a graduate of Sanford High School and attended the Salvation Army Training School for two years in New York City. She was incredibly involved with the Salvation Army as an officer and where she was an inspiration to many. Her presence and heart brought comfort and joy to her fellow members at church and in the community. Jacqueline strived to serve others by joining in many community programs. She worked many years as a receptionist at the Career Center. </p><p><br></p><p>Jackie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. For many years she found companionship with her cats. Though she had no children of her own, she opened her heart and home to many that needed a “Mom” “Grammy” or “Auntie.”</p><p><br></p><p>She possessed the Love of Christ and shared freely her faith and was truly selfless. Jackie accepted people right where they are at. . . no judgement or finding fault. Her arms were open for hugs!</p><p><br></p><p>She has been called home into the welcoming arms of her Lord Jesus Christ. </p><p><br></p><p>Jacqueline is survived by her sister Mary Penney of Springvale, and several nieces and nephews. </p><p><br></p><p>She was predeceased by her two brothers: Daniel and Benjamin Penney.</p><p><br></p><p>A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Bibber Memorial at Autumn Green, 47 Oak St., in Alfred.
