Elta Chittum

Elta McCray Chittum, 71, of 608 Augusta Ave., died, Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at her residence.

She was born on July 17, 1951, in Clifton Forge, a daughter of the late Joe McCray, Sr. and Ida Frazier McCray. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Barry P. Chittum, Sr.; one brother Joe McCray, Jr.; and a stepsister Diane Andrews.

Elta loved her sons and being with family and friends.

Surviving are her two sons; Charles Chittum and Barry Chittum, Jr. both of Covington; one stepbrother Daryl Andrews and his wife Caroline of Alexandria; one stepsister Dawn Stone of Alexandria; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes her body has been cremated.

A service will be at a later date.
