Joe David Vela, 60, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at HCA Clear Lake Hospital.

Born in Galveston, Texas, he was the son of Adelaide M. Gonzales and Martiano R. Vela. He graduated from Ball High School and attended College of the Mainland and worked as pipefitter. He was an electronic assembler when he resided in Phoenix AZ.

He enjoyed hobbies that involved music, such as playing guitar. He loved cooking and barbequing. He was an avid football fan of the Texans and Cowboys. He loved movies and experiencing different cultures.

He was predeceased by his parents, Adelaide M. Vela, Martiano R. Vela, and his brother Martin Vela. He is survived by his brothers, Henry G. Vela, Ruben Vela, Victor Vela, Daniel Vela, Freddy Vela and wife Elizabeth. His sisters, Delores M. Vela, Sylvia A. Somoza, Adela R. Vela, Carmen L. Vela and husband Joey. His nieces, Brittany A. Somoza, Angelina S. Pena, Brianna N. Somoza and nephew, Andrew Vela as well as numerous relatives and friends.
