Mervyn Cecil Binkley

<p>Mervyn was born in Keeler, SK on September 14, 1930 to Philip &amp; Llowyn Binkley. He was #14 in the eventual long line of 16 kids. </p><p>The family moved to the Etomami area, where years later Mervyn met and then married Margaret (Peggy) Parkman in 1952. Together they raised 7 children. Dad provided for his family by originally working at the family sawmill, then farming, and later working at McMillan Bloedel.</p><p>Music was a huge part of dad’s life. There was several gatherings or practice sessions at the house where the Etomami Band would get together and play for hours. He and the rest of the Etomami Band played many dances at the Etomami Hall whether it was weddings, anniversary, or New year’s parties. Later years saw mom and dad going at least once a month to an old time dance.</p><p>Baseball was another of Dad’s favorite past times. He played for years with the Hudson Bay Jaks and tried to watch as many Blue Jays games as he could. One of his pet peeves was that he didn’t have the channel in the hospital to watch the Blue Jays. </p><p>He also enjoyed hunting, bowling, and watching various sports on TV. In recent years playing cards in the evening became a regular activity.</p><p>Dad had a quiet sense of humor that would come out every once in a while with an unexpected comical or sarcastic comment. </p><p>Mervyn is survived by his Children; Ellen (Jess) Dzikowski, Rick (Mary) Binkley; (Connie Binkley); Fairy (Mike) Lemishka; Judy (Ken) Cleaveley; Lowine Binkley (Ahab)</p><p>His Grandchildren: Paul (Michelle); Evan; Clayton (Natasha); Chelsey (Nick); Shawna; Jess (CJ)</p><p>Philip (Shelby); Brandi (Todd); Marshall, Andrew; Jarvis (Madi); Aspen (Nick); Miranda (Ryan); Letitia (Caleb); James &amp; His twenty Great Grandchildren, as well as his Sisters: Louella and Mona and numerous nieces &amp; nephews and families. </p><p>Mervyn was predeceased by his parents: Philip &amp; Llowyn; his wife Peggy; his sons Brad and Bill; his grandson Ron; and numerous sisters, brothers, and in laws.</p><p><br></p>
