Richard Norman Ford also known as “Slick Rick, Kemosabi, Mendoza” 67 of Danville IL., passed this life at 1:24 P.M. on Thursday October 27, 2022, at his home with his wife by his side.

Richard was born on June 22, 1955, in Rantoul. He was the son of Previous and Ola Mae Ford. He married Deana (Jackson) Ford on October 19, 1996. They were married for 26 years and together for 27 years until God called him home,  form his work done here on earth. Richard was an employee of many places. He worked at Keller’s, Big Foot, Shell, 711, BP, and  most recent was Central States, until he fell and had to retire.

Richard enjoyed grilling, dancing, fishing, cracking jokes, making people laugh, working, and spending time with family and friends. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.

Richard leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 26 years Deana Ford, children; Richard (Kristy) Ford, Shyanne Ford, Amanda (Silk) Davis, Andrew Crosby, and Clayton (Bethany) Crosby. He also leaves to cherish his memory his grandchildren Ahliyhai, Jhe’Niyah, Keyarrah, Edward, Azzariyah, Ka’Mariyha, Za’vyhas, Kayden, Kighlynn, Kaydence, Kholie, A.J. His sister’s;  Shirley Ellis, Brenda Brandon, Cynthia Tyler, Tina (Richard) Foley, Frances (John) Walker and Gail (Rodney) Brooks- Jones. Brother’s Ronnie Ford, Llyod Ford, Sylvester Ford, and Donald Ford.  A special brother-in-law Roy Gouard and friends Robert Lucas and Veronica Finch, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Carole Gouard, and his twin brother Robert Ford.

A Homegoing Celebration will commence at 12:00 Noon Thursday November 3, 2022 at New Life Church Of Faith 1419 N. Bowman Ave, Danville. Eulogist: Pastor Thomas Miller. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow after at Danville National Cemetery.

A public viewing will be held from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm Wednesday November 2, 2022 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 304 E. Williams St., Danville.
