Margaret Ann Hubbard Obituary

Margaret (Marge) Lyons Hubbard, age 78, of Pounding Mill, VA, departed this life peacefully on October 30, 2022 following a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Born on August 17, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Elbert Dewey Lyons and Nannie Pearl Edwards Lyons. She enjoyed sewing and fishing.


In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Hubbard; four sisters; Dorothy Sullivan, Eileen Carroll, Norma Robinette, Louise Stanley and Naomi Lyons; seven brothers; James Lyons, Danny Lyons, Bill Lyons, Vernon Lyons, Elbert D. Lyons, Jr, Robert Lyons and Clifford Lyons. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family in her generation.


She is survived by one daughter, Renee Richardson and husband Bobby; two grandchildren; Robin Shrader and husband Adam, Jason Richardson and wife Brittany; five great grandchildren; Noah Colley, Brodie Shrader, Jaylynn Richardson, Paisley Richardson and River Richardson; two brothers-in-law; Willard Sullivan and Charlie Robinette; two sisters-in-law, Jan Lyons and Darlene Lyons. Many nieces and nephews also survive.


The family will receive friends on Thursday November 3, 2022 from 12:30 – 2:00 PM at Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, VA. Services will begin at 2:00 PM with Pastor Doug Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhills Memory Garden Cemetery, Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
