Irene Edwards
<p>Irene Edwards (Pietrzykowski), 96, of Reading, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at her home. She was the loving wife for over 54 years to Edward J. Edwards, before his passing on January 9, 2005. Born in Reading, Irene was the daughter of the late Frank Pietrzykowski and Frances (Gierot). Irene was a graduate of Reading High School, enjoyed playing tennis, reading books, bowling, and was a lifetime parishioner of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. </p><p>Irene is survived by her loving niece and caretaker, Sandra Wrable, of Reading, her loving friend, Sister Margaret Pavluchuk IHM, as well as many nieces and nephews. </p><p>In addition to her husband Edward, Irene is predeceased by her daughter, Dr. Beverly Edwards, who passed on February 18, 2011, and her siblings, Bernard Pietrzykowski, Mary Barbon, Anna Boucher, Florence Kerns, and Pauline Proietto. </p><p>A prayer service for Irene will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 10:00 AM in Bean Funeral Homes, 1605 Rockland Street, Reading. Monsignor Thomas J. Orsulak to officiate. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Homes, Reading, on Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 230 IHM Drive, Malvern, PA 19355.
