Edith M. Barbone passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Brightview Senior Living in E. Norriton, PA. She was 94. Ms. Barbone was a former resident of Bridgeport, PA. She had worked as office administrator / cashier for the former A & P Supermarket in King of Prussia for over 35 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Bridgeport and had also been a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She loved her Church and was very active in many of the committees; but especially looked forward to working at the Annual Feast every summer. She also volunteered at the Upper Merion Senior Center and Brightview Senior Living. Edith lived in Bridgeport most of her life and loved this small town; but she also enjoyed traveling. While she traveled all over, her favorite place was Italy especially when she visited the town of Montella which was her family’s hometown.

Born in Bridgeport, PA on July 12, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Salvatore and Filomena (Capone) Barbone. Surviving is her loving family including many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Anthony, Michael, Nicholas and Salvatore; and 2 sisters, Grace Carfagno and Carmella Dowlin and a nephew Carmen Carfagno.

The family will receive relatives & friends at Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson Street, Bridgeport on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 9:30 to 10:20 am; followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Edith’s memory to Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson Street, Bridgeport, PA 19405.
