Onice Davis Coppage, 82, of Hahira died Monday, October 27, 2008 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on June 3, 1926 in Lanier County to the late Henry Luther and Mildred Colly Davis and had lived in Lowndes County since 1939. Mrs. Coppage was a member of the Adel Church of Christ and she loved her Lord and being involved with the activities of the church. She was a retired school teacher with the Lowndes County School System having taught for thirty four years at Pine Grove Elementary. Mrs. Coppage loved gardening and flowers. Survivors include her nephews and nieces, Mike Davis of Valdosta, Harold Davis of Valdosta, Danny Davis of Dublin, Janet McAllister of Tifton, Karen Hall of Valdosta, Tony Davis of Leslie, GA., Huyln Rykard, Bobby Rykard, Billy Rykard all of Eastman, Gerald Cole, Joyce Williams and Calvin Cole all of Bartow, Fla., numerous great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian W. Coppage, two sisters, Cecile Rykard and Edna Hardy, five brothers, Herman Davis, Quincy Davis, E. J. Davis, Rufus Davis and Troy Davis. Funeral services will be held at 4pm, Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the Hahira Church of Christ with Mr. Hillary Broome and Mr. Bill Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3pm until time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
