Joyce Bernice Recknagel,
96 passed on to glory Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the Grand Hills Castle in New Berlin, WI. She was born December 29, 1925 in Walworth County, WI to Otto and Louise Wiesenthal, graduated from Elkhorn High School, and married Elmer (Bud)
Recknagel on May 17, 1947. Together they raised four children in the Mukwonago area. She was a former member of East Troy Bible Church, and most recently of Countryside Christian Church, Brookfield. Joyce loved to cook and garden, but she found her greatest joy in serving family and friends. She was a faithful prayer warrior. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2013.
She is survived by her children, Hollee (Bruce) Holsclaw, Mauston, Chris (Marie), Milwaukee, Renae (Larry) Newton, Boonville, IN, and David, East Troy; grandchildren, Kriste Goldsmith, Sara (Jordan) Gall, Steven Recknagel, Jacob (Lindsay) Holsclaw,
Anna (Steve) Bain, Emily (Blake) Olson, Cara Holsclaw, Jared (Cassandra) Holsclaw, and Joseph (Rebecca) Holsclaw; great-grandchildren, Sam Goldsmith, Amelia Gall, Alayna, Hunter, Joden, Chloe, Jase, and Henry Holsclaw, Cecelia
and Everett Bain, Ansley and Luke Olson, Gideon Holsclaw, Shepherd and Isabella Holsclaw; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will begin Wednesday October 26th 2022 at 12:00 p.m., at the Legacy Funeral Services, 2974 Main St., East Troy, WI. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Interment will follow in German Settlement Cemetery, Spring Prairie
