EUNICE-With heavy hearts the family of Sandra Darbonne Rougeau announces her passing on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at the Prairie Manor Nursing Home in Pine Prairie at the age of 69. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Our Lady Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Chataignier. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Father Clement, Celebrant.

    Sandra was a devout Catholic and very active member of her church. She worked in education as a beloved Teacher’s Aide for over 25 years, inspiring the lives of many children. Sandra also lived for her family and was a devoted and special mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her sons, Mario Joseph Rougeau and wife, Sandy, and Wyatt Andrew Rougeau and wife, Jamie, all of Eunice; her daughters, Laura Rougeau Garcille and husband, Brett of Eunice, and Ashley Ann Rougeau of Ville Platte; brothers, Steve Darbonne and wife, Jan, and Wayne Darbonne and wife, Izetta, all of Eunice; sisters, Maxie Zaunbrecher of Elton, Gloria Langley and husband, Jerry of Basile, and Betty Brown and husband, Peter of Eunice; grandchildren, Tyler Dodd, Alyson Rougeau, Andrew Rougeau, Hunter Pitre, Landon Rougeau, Kelly Monier, Emmy Garcille, Riley Garcille, and John Roth Garcille; as well as extended family and friends.

     She is preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Laura Guillory Darbonne; and siblings, Ray Darbonne and Ruth Amy.

     At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, October 25th from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm, and again on Wednesday, October 26th from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be prayed by Deacon Chuck Ortego at 6:30 pm Tuesday evening.
