<p>Daniel Walden Smith, age 91 of Duluth, died passed peacefully on October 22, 2022.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday October 28, 2022 at Bill Head Funeral Home Duluth Chapel. Interment White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Duluth.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Mr. Smith was born in Glennville, GA and moved to Duluth in 1956 where he was a great educator both as a teacher and coach at Duluth High School for 40 years. He loved “his kids” and spent his career working to help them be and do their very best. Mr. Smith was interested in everyone and everything and learning his whole life. Not long before his passing he was looking for a painting class to explore new skills. He was especially focused on Georgia Bulldog football, gardening, travel, and woodworking. He was a member of Bethany Primitive Baptist Church and served as a deacon in several other churches over his lifetime.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his daughters, Della Smith of Duluth; Dawn Leffin (Steve) of Milton; son, Walden Smith Jr. (Misti) of Acworth; grandchildren, Corley Leffin, Madeline Smith and Danny Smith; sister, Diana Dyess of Savannah; step-sons, Jonathan Presley (Megan) and Frank Presley, both of Lawrenceville; sister-in-law, June Smith of St. Simons; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Corley Smith and his second wife, Fay Smith. He would tell you he was blessed to have loved and been loved by two outstanding women.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bethany Primitive Baptist Church, 5101 Old Atlanta Rd., Suwanee, GA 30024.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>The family will receive friends Thursday October 27, 2022 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Bill Head Funeral Homes and Crematory Duluth Chapel, 770-476-2535.<br></p><p><br></p>
