Dorothy Jane Ramseur Rogers

Dorothy Jane Ramseur Rogers, 76, passed away Saturday October 15, 2022. She was born January 9, 1946 in Burke County to the late James Preston Ramseur and Apolonia Carson Ramseur. 

She was a member of St. Paul AME Zion Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Juanita Ramseur Hoke, David Ramseur, Melvin Ramseur Sr., and Richard Ramseur.

She leaves to cherish loving memories her husband Edward A. Rogers Sr., her children Carol Gina (Gregory Johnson) of Hickory, N.C., Angela D. (Rosalind Bishop) Rogers of Sanford, N.C., Edward A. (Malden Petrov) Rogers II of Alexandria, Va., Annika Johnson and Sophia Jones of Hickory, N.C., Felice Overton of Claremont, N.C., a sister Jean Rutherford of Newton, N.C. a host of nieces, nephews, extended grandchildren, great-grandchildren; special nieces, Debra Hoke, Beverly Loritz, and Michelle Hoke; and special friends, Alice Clark and Curtis Smith.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul A.M.E. Zion Church with Rev. I. Melvin Peay, officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Southside Cemetery.
