Marilyn Jewel Sutherland age 94, passed away peacefully on October 18,2022. She was born in Davenport, Iowa in 1928. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard L Sutherland, parents, Wilbert and Mabel Schmeckel and brother James. She is survived by her son Greg (Laura), daughter Suzanne (Fred), Grandchildren, Matthew, Jay and Haley and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Thomas Schmeckel.

Marilyn and Richard met and married in Davenport, settled for many years in Chicago and finally Ft. Lauderdale. Marilyn worked many years for the school system as a teacher's aide. Above all she loved her husband, family and Catholic faith, had lifelong friends she cherished and passed down her love of travel and family traditions.

Family will receive friends at Barbara Falowski Funeral Home on Saturday November 12, 2022 from 11am-1pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Marilyn's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Humane Society of Broward County.
