Age 89 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, in her residence at The Inn at Willow Falls in Crest Hill. Born in Livingston County, Illinois, Millie was a 1951 graduate of Gardner-South Wilmington High School. Formerly of Lockport, Millie was a member of the Lockport Women’s Club, the Lockport Historical Society, and High Road Bible Church where she managed the food pantry for many years. She was also a volunteer docent for the I & M Heritage Canal Museum in Lockport and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her loving children James Kelly Stewart, Lisa (James) Boudouris, and Victoria (David) Malone; grandchildren Jonathan Stewart, Nicholas Stewart, JT (Olya) Boudouris, Katie (Dan) Kelly, Emilie (fiancé Josh Johanson) Malone, Ian (Hannah) Malone, and Elisabeth Malone; great grandchildren Sophia Boudouris, Charlotte and Rory Kelly; sister Marge (the late Evan) Clark, and brother-in-law Tom (the late Helen) Wendell. Millie was preceded in death by her husband James Stewart; parents Shannon and Versa Meredith; siblings Trilla (Oliver) Rossio, Dorothy, Freida (Walter) Lawless, Lloyd, Robert, Jack, and James Meredith. Millie’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at The Inn at Willow Falls and the caring providers at Lightways Hospice in Joliet for their dedication to and compassion for our mom/Noni. Visitation Sunday from 4 to 8 pm at Anderson Memorial Home, 21131 W. Renwick Rd., Plainfield, IL 60544. Funeral Monday, October 24, 2022, 11 am at the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Lockport City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Millie’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org) or the National Alliance for Mental Illness (donate.nami.org).
